License Conversion

About License Conversion

Our License Conversion program is designed specifically for pilots from other ICAO contracting states who wish to align their certifications with Indian aviation regulations as set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This program helps pilots adapt their skills and knowledge to comply with local standards.

Examinations:

  • For Private Pilot Licenses (Aeroplane/Helicopter): Candidates must pass exams set by the Central Examination Organisation (CEO) of the DGCA, as detailed in the relevant section of Schedule II of the Aircraft Rules, 1937.
  • For Commercial Pilot’s License (Aeroplane/Helicopter): Applicants need to pass a written examination by the CEO that includes:
  • Air Regulations
  • A composite paper on Air Navigation and Aviation Meteorology, as per the prescribed syllabus.
  • For Airline Transport Pilot’s License (Aeroplane/Helicopter): Applicants are required to pass written exams on:
  • Air Regulations
  • A composite paper on Air Navigation, Avionics (Radio Aids and Instruments), and Aviation Meteorology, according to the prescribed syllabus.
  • An additional oral examination is required for ATPL candidates, as specified in para 1(d) of Section M or N, of Schedule II of the Aircraft Rules, 1937.

Skill Test:

Applicants must successfully demonstrate their flying competency through skill tests on the specific type of aircraft related to their license application. These tests must be conducted to the satisfaction of a DGCA-approved examiner in India.
